Here is a bunch of pictures of me because cleaning is BORING

I had this super American moment while out taking a walk. I was feeling thirsty and they just added this new Fanta soda I dig to the machines. I never really drink soda (my parents rarely had soda in the house, so I never acquired the taste; finding it now too sugary in my relative-adulthood. Even when we did have soda, it was always knock-off weird soda, like 'Shasta' or 'OK-1,' which wasn't really all that appealing to my young brand-savvy self) but sometimes a certain zero calorie soda will really intrigue me. It is always a zero-cal soda-- I think because it doesn't taste like sugar. Seriously; ants are not even interested in zero-cal sodas--spill it to your heart's content. If I try to drink a regular soda, it just burns my throat. Anyway, so I now desire this zero-cal Fanta soda. Zero cal sodas are actually really rare here in Japan and this one is a new addition and it is Fanta-stic. So, I went up to a machine to get one and I noticed there were two sizes for the soda in this particular machine. One was the regular 350ml size and the other was larger--about 500ml. The thing was THEY WERE THE EXACT SAME PRICE. And. I. Was. Shocked. Then I flashed back on this comic I had heard once, who described this time he was in France and a similar thing happened--at a shop, there were drinks and they came in 'small' and a 'large' size and were the same price. And he just could not fathom why anyone would buy the small size. Yet, he kept seeing people asking for the small size and paying for it, seemingly unfazed by the price. Finally, he asked a Frenchwoman who had just paid for her small soda Why On Earth she would have chosen that size over the equally priced large size. She replied that she bought the small because that was as much as she wanted. She wouldn't be able to finish the large and it would be a waste.

There is something so fundamentally American about this mentality, I can't even express it.

If it is bigger, it isn't always better for you. So, I thought about it, gauged my desire and pressed the button for the smaller soda.

Speaking of things smaller, check out the little half-sized beers:

But wait! If you don't even want that much and only need a thimbleful of Asahi to get your motor running, they cater to you, too:

PS. I am still loving short hair and feeling really awesome about cutting it. My tantosha is the only one who hasn't been totally freaked about me cutting it by myself. She knows me so well when I showed up she simply asked 'Did you cut your own hair?'

Additionally, it is now both running and drinking season, so all my friends know what time that is! INJURY COUNT! Check it!

The bruises are hard to see in this photo but they ain't in person:

And! I got myself a new scar!

SWEEEEET!
