God heard your polls

Last night, magic was in the air. I mentioned in passing about my interest in acquiring a kitten to a room of expats and I got a phone call about an hour later from Charlene (an ALT in Hondo) asking me if I had been serious. Turns out, a kitten followed her boyfriend home. They are both allergic to cats, so they couldn't keep it, but they wanted to know if I wanted it. Now I run from responsibility. I talk a good game but as soon as commitment is on the line, I bolt. However, these two allergy-having persons kept the kitten in their home over night out of the extreme kindness of their hearts and I thought the least I could do was swing by and give them a definite answer. It was love at first sight.

Orange. An orange kitten. With green eyes. The kitteh is a little worse for wear; a bit of a broken tail, eyes that should be looked at by a vet and the poor thing needs some serious food, but the kitten is as sweet as can be. Help me name my cat: I am thinking Mr. Marmalade for literary reasons (I do plan to have a better relationship with kitty than that though, Becca--don't worry) but I am open to suggestions.

oh. my. gosh. that kitten is so cute. I was so glad you put yourself in that video because I smiled and laughed at the same times as you did and it was fun! Man what a cutie that little guy is. I just read all your blog posts to catch up and I am glad you're having a good time! Also I'm sorry I missed your birthday. Happy birthday.

That may be the cutest kitten ever. I am so happy you can give him a good home. Will you try to bring him back to the US?
I think Mr. Marmalade is fine, as long as you don't let him get involved in coke or porn. I'm sure it will be alright.

KITTY! OH KITTY! I would fawn (faun?) over him more, but I have to go make bloody marys (maries?) for my parents. Good times.

Hmmm, you could also name him Otto.
